About Chicago State University
Chicago State University (CSU), founded in 1867, is the oldest public university in the Chicago Metropolitan area. CSU is known for its impressive landscape, sitting on 161 wooded acres featuring large tracts of open space and beautiful trees. Proficient with transfer course articulation, functional and broader technical experience, and the ability to maintain course transfer rules database.
Transfer and Articulation
Evaluate credit by examination and academic transcripts from colleges, universities, military, international, and additional areas by comparing content of courses at the university and other institutions to determine transfer and other credit
Exercise independent judgment guided by policies, practices, and procedures to evaluate traditional and nontraditional transfer credit in order to determine course equivalencies
Supports ongoing maintenance of CAPP & Degree
Works as the University updates degree requirements. Analyze transfer credit earned through standardized testing (e.g. AP, IB, CLEP) and PLA to identify transfer credit
Consults with academic departments regarding course equivalencies as needed by the subject matter expert
Works with advising and other student service areas for transfer credit questions and reverse transfer to support program completion
Provide information as needed to academic and departmental advisors about transfer articulation issues as related to specific students
Assist with the maintenance of the transfer articulation database module of the student information systems and the production of equivalency guides
Create and update transfer credit articulation rules in operational systems such as Banner, Transferology, and Transfer Evaluation System (TES)Serves as the resource for university transfer credit policies & practices, including responding to internal & external inquiries related to
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Two years (24 months) of professional work experience in admissions, records, registration, and/or closely related experience within an educational setting.
Demonstrated work experience in higher education transfer articulation and assessment.
Two years (24 months) of administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, and/or evaluation of policy, credentials, or records leading to the development, improvement or maintenance of systems, procedures or practices
Experience working in an Admissions or Registrar’s Office at a college or university
Ability to understand, explain, and apply complex policies, rules, and guidelines
