Job Description

This position provides office administration as well as support to faculty, staff, and students in the Heart of Illinois Low Incidence Association (HILIA) Program. HILIA exists in collaboration between Bloomington School District #87, Livingston County Special Services Unit, Tri-County Special Education Association, McLean County Unit 5 School District, Illinois State University Laboratory Schools, and the Region Office of Education. HILIA provides a continuum of services for students with low incidence disabilities of deaf or hard of hearing and low vision blindness. This position provides office management and support for the HILIA Program including the HILIA Program Coordinator, faculty, staff, and students attending the lab schools. This position oversees the budgets, staffing absences at Metcalf, and maintains student, employee, and department records and documents for the HILIA program. Along with overseeing the Fairchild Hall security entrance for Metcalf during school hours.

This position is subject to summer academic break layoff, typically mid-June through July.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications
High school graduation or equivalent
Twenty-four (24) months of clerical/office support work experience comparable to that performed at the Office Support Specialist level of this series or in other positions of comparable responsibility
Desired Qualifications
The ability to interact with the public, students, parents, and staff in a sensitive, tactful manner.
Proficiency in computer skills and internet use.
Ability to multitask and maintain confidentiality.
Well organized.
Follows through in a timely manner.


Salary

$17.96-$18.61 per hour
