Job Description
The function of the position is to assist the University Registrar in the administrative duties necessary for effective management of the Office of the University Registrar. This position is responsible for independently organizing, coordinating, and performing a wide-range of duties. The person must perform computer work and budgets for all areas within the Unit. As the University Registrar has multiple and diverse responsibilities, the person must thus be able to work without direct supervision. The person must make responsible decisions, recommend changes to office procedures and communicate effectively with the University Registrar.

1. High school graduation or equivalent
2. Any one or any combination totaling 1.0 unit of the following:
- Four (4) years (48 months) of work experience comparable to the third level (Office Support Specialist) of this series = 1.0 unit. This work includes performing a wide variety of office support tasks, which require the use of judgment and initiative and the ability to operate computer systems, using word processing, database and software packages. Knowledge of the organization, programs, practices and procedures of a department/unit is central to the performance of the duties.
- Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience comparable to the fourth level (Office Manager) of this series = 1.0 unit. This work includes functioning as an agent of the unit or organization by performing highly specialized administrative support duties. An in-depth knowledge of the organization, programs, policies and procedures of the unit/department is essential to the performance of the duties, as well as the ability to use good judgment, operate computer systems, using word processing, database and software packages, and to exercise discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
Desired Qualifications
-Expertise using Excel, in particular pivot tables and related formulas.
-Knowledge of social media platforms and the ability to create and edit postings.
-Knowledge of or potential to learn ONE database, Campus Solutions, Cognos, Datatel, Reggienet, FormStack, and Qualtrics.
-Budgeting skills.
-Expertise in setting up events, working with caterers, vendors, and campus facilities.
-Expertise in writing and editing copy.
Skills and Attributes to Undertake Job:
-Ability to establish a cooperative working relationship with faculty, staff, and students.
-Excellent knowledge of computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to set up functions, enter data, or process information.
-Accounting, Calendar/Scheduling, Database, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Word Processing, Spreadsheet software
-Confidentiality is essential for this position.
-Ability to maintain composure and provide good service in handling student and staff issues in all situations including when the student or staff member is having a difficult day.
-Strong communication (oral and written), leadership and supervisory skills and experience.
-Experience in negotiating contracts for services and goods.
-Knowledge of University administrative methods, policies, and office administration practices.
-Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment in order to analyze and investigate a variety of questions and issues, some of which may be sensitive and confidential in nature.
-Ability to multi-task; prioritize projects and complete on or before the due date.
-Strong organizational skills including ability to maintain paper and electronic files for fast and easy access.
Salary
$16.60 - $20.05/hour
