Job Description
The Assistant Risk Manager is responsible for providing assistance to the Director of Risk Management as it relates to contract and affiliation agreement review for activities that occur both on and off campus, insurance renewals, property loss claims coordination, property loss (under deductible) data and trend management, basic risk assessment for institutional activities, and student employee supervision.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in business management, loss prevention, safety, insurance, risk management, or related degree (verify with transcript).
2. Two (2) years of full-time professional level experience in safety, risk management, loss prevention, insurance, or related field.
3. Ability to analyze data and develop rational and realistic conclusions based on relevant information to resolve issues brought to his/her attention.
4. Demonstrated ability to write programs, letters, and reports in a clear and concise manner.
5. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret insurance language as it appears in contracts.
6. Demonstrated ability to communicate with individuals from various technical and educational backgrounds.
7. Knowledge of basic computer programs, e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, and other related programs.
8. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.
