Job Description

This position participates in the research, development, maintenance and support of the core infrastructure necessary to provide private and public cloud computing services to Administrative Technologies and its customers in accordance with University needs, specifications, and policy and as designated by the immediate supervisor. The primary duties of this position include analysis of new computer systems and designing, developing, creating, and testing computer system prototypes based on user specifications.

The primary focus of this position will be to develop, architect, optimize, implement and maintain the IT Infrastructure, including at both the hardware level and the software level. This position will also participate in the research and development of cloud computing technologies, and assist with Storage Administration.


Qualifications

1. Any combination totaling two years from the following categories:
a. Progressively more responsible work experience in IT-related profession
b. College course work in Information Technology (IT), IT Management, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 60 semester hours or Associate's Degree equals one year
- 90-120 semester hours or Bachelor's Degree equals two years

2. One year of demonstrated programming experience, particularly scripting. (Perl, PHP, PowerShell, etc.)

3. One year of demonstrated experience with hardware and software technology integration in large computing environments.

4. Experience working with internal and external teams to develop, implement and maintain hardware, software, and services.

5. Demonstrated knowledge of networking concepts.

6. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.
