Job Description
The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) seeks an HR Associate (Civil Service Recruiter). This position plans and consults with department hiring managers on the recruitment and placement of civil service vacancies at all levels. This includes coordinating activities with hiring department and other Human Resources staff to identify hiring needs. Identifies appropriate recruitment sources and consults on external advertising campaigns. Screens applicants; develops and administers civil service examinations including written tests, performance tests, and credential assessments; identifies, orients and oversees subject matter experts; refers qualified candidates to the appointing college or administrative units. Develops and maintains employment registers. Oversee pre-employment screening and the on-boarding of all hires.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Administration, Management, Organizational Administration, Public Administration, Labor Relations, Business Administration or a field closely related to the position.
2. Two years of work experience performing professional-level human resources duties.
3. Demonstrated experience in full-life cycle recruiting including; staffing requirement evaluation, sourcing, screening, selection and on-boarding.
4. Proof of Illinois residency is required within 180 days of the hire date should an offer of employment be made in this classification title.
