Job Description
Campus Dining Services (CDS) is committed to providing an outstanding dining experience for students. This position plays an integral role in accomplishing this goal by ensuring dining center cleanliness, comfort, and attractiveness, promoting a positive customer service environment, overseeing the cash register operation, and ensuring high quality products are available to the customer at all times. Managers in this position ensure all established procedures and standards are adhered to in the facility. This position is responsible for the coordination of all student employee activities and the development of a customer service team that responds to customer needs and resolves customer complaints.
CDS is a large, progressive, innovative department functioning under the Division of Student Affairs. CDS provides the campus community and guests with high-quality foods and services in a variety of settings dedicated to accentuating and enhancing the customer experience in a diverse community. Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Ensures quality standards are being defined and upheld in areas of responsibility; collaborates with unit chef to ensure adherence to food quality standards.
- Controls labor hours in venues of responsibility; scheduling, training staff and assigning duties; evaluates job performance of venue employees and carries out any necessary discipline procedures; reviews time records for accuracy and checks schedules to reconcile time; assists with summer staffing.
- Responsible for venue cleanliness, safety and sanitation. Maintains venue equipment, completes work orders and makes recommendations for improvements.
- Ensures excellent customer service; Greets guests, responds to needs and resolves customer complaints.
- Responsible for training cash register operators; maintains cash handling controls; ensures cash register pricing is correct.
- Performs dining center opening and or closing responsibilities as assigned, both Front of the House (FOH) and kitchen.
Qualifications
1. High school graduation or equivalent
2. Four years of food service management experience (University training in dietetics, in hotel, restaurant, or institutional management, or in related fields may be substituted, year for year, for experience.)
3. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, then employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.
4. A final candidate must complete a post-offer pre-employment physical exam. Employment is contingent on the successful result of the pre-employment physical.
Salary
$2,621 - $3,407 per month
