Campus Dining Services (CDS) is committed to providing an outstanding dining experience for students. This position plays an integral role in accomplishing this goal by utilizing a broad range of culinary skills and equipment to prepare fresh and delicious menu items. Our culinary staff frequently participates in display cooking, utilizing woks, salad preparation, grilling, and pizza making to enhance our customers' experience.
CDS is a large, progressive, innovative department functioning under the Division of Student Affairs. CDS provides the campus community and guests with high-quality foods and services in a variety of settings dedicated to accentuating and enhancing the customer experience in a diverse community. Led by experienced culinary professionals, we offer staff the opportunity to work in newly-renovated facilities and are committed to using quality ingredients and processes. Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare and cook meat, vegetables, casseroles, soups, sandwiches, salads, desserts, starches, sauces, and other menu items in accordance with standardized recipes.
- Read recipes and plan schedule of preparation. Follow recipes exactly when preparing products and use batch cooking when necessary.
- Assist in checking food temperatures for foods to go out on the line. Clean and sanitize work area.
- Follow all established safety and sanitation procedures.
- Use and care for all ovens, fryers, grills, slicers, mixers, and other food service equipment and utensils.
Qualifications
1. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.
2. A final candidate must complete a post-offer pre-employment physical exam. Employment is contingent on the successful result of the pre-employment physical.
Salary
$15.64 per hour
