Campus Dining Services (CDS) is committed to providing an outstanding dining experience for students, faculty, staff, and guests. This position plays an integral role in accomplishing this goal by managing the day-to-day operations of a complex, multi-venue food service facility.
CDS is a large, progressive, innovative department functioning under the Division of Student Affairs. CDS provides the campus community and guests with high-quality foods and services in a variety of settings dedicated to accentuating and enhancing the customer experience in a diverse community. This position directly supervises the day-to-day operations of assigned unit including the planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of all aspects of the operation and ensures unit is operating in a fiscally responsible manner. Other duties include directly supervising the food service administrators, which includes hiring, training, mentoring, evaluating, and disciplining and overseeing the personnel functions for the entire unit including scheduling, time reporting, evaluations, discipline, grievance resolution, training and student hiring.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, hospitality management, food service administration, institutional food services, or dietetics.
2. Five years experience in food service management, 2 years of which must be in at an administrative level in a complex, high volume facility with the responsibility of supervising (evaluating, training, and disciplining) a large number of employees.
3. Demonstrated ability to lead multiple teams in a complex, diverse organization and successfully provide alignment and innovation to generate measurable outcomes to multiple client and customer locations.
4. Demonstrated ability to lead change and manage talent in a complex, diverse organization including the ability to influence and negotiate.
5. Demonstrated ability to build strategic relationships and network effectively.
6. Must possess highly developed interpersonal, organization and communication (written and verbal) skills.
7. Must possess strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
8. Demonstrated ability to stay abreast business and industry knowledge and ability to utilize this knowledge in decision making.
9. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.
