Job Description

Under the general direction provided by the Principal, this individual's major responsibilities include organizing and supervising the application process, managing student and employee files, managing student accounts, serving as the hiring manager for the school, overseeing fall registration, and assisting with the website. This position also assists the principal with day-to-day duties including verifying AESOP and time approval.

This is a 12-month position.


Qualifications

1. High school graduation or equivalent

2. 12 months of work experience performing clerical/secretarial work comparable to the next
lower level of this series

3. Any one or any combination of the following types of preparation that totals 1 unit according to the conversion rates below:
(a) work experience performing clerical/secretarial work, including use of computer systems
(b) college or university coursework in Office Occupations, Business Administration,
Business Education, or closely related fields
(c) vocational training which provided a knowledge of generally accepted clerical
procedures comparable to that gained in "b" above
(d) college or university coursework in any curriculum
24 months of "a" = 1 unit
24 semester hours of "b" = 1 unit
12 months of "c" = 1 unit
60 semester hours of "d" = 1 unit

Amounts of experience or training less than those listed above should be converted to decimal equivalents of 1.0 unit and added together when computing combinations of the different types of preparation.

If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, then employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.


Salary

$13.70- $14.45 per hour

Other documentation such as college transcripts (may be unofficial) and/or a DD214 (official military discharge) must also be brought to the Civil Service exam if applicable in order to receive the maximum eligible points.

The Civil Service exam will include a typing test with the ability to keyboard accurately at a net rate of 25 words per minute.
