Job Description

The Emergency Management, Deputy Director is a member of the Emergency Management department whose overall responsibility is to help administer the University's emergency management program.

This position will lead the University's Continuity of Operations (COOP) efforts by assisting departments in completing their plans, rolling them up into a University-wide plan and integrating with other efforts, including the Emergency Operations Plan.

In addition, this position assists with all areas of the Emergency Management program, including assisting to coordinate the University's preparedness and response efforts.

The Emergency Management, Deputy Director will be expected to set an example in fulfilling duties and responsibilities in a professional manner and to work in a collaborative and positive manner with Emergency Management staff, respecting each member's skills and capabilities, as well limitations.

This position collaborates with Environmental Health & Safety, the Police Department and others in fulfillment of responsibilities and assigned duties. This position will work with student employees and/or interns.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree* in Emergency Management, or related field.

2. Three years (36 months) of emergency management experience.

3. Successful completion of National Incident Management System (NIMS) IS-100 and IS-700 curriculum.

4. Possession of a valid driver's license.

5. No record of conviction of a felony or a crime involving moral turpitude.

6. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, then employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.

*A Master's Degree in a closely related field may be substituted to meet this requirement. Verify with transcript.
