Job Description
The Business Analyst provides leadership and direction to the Career Center team and to stakeholders including students, employers, university constituents and partners, and alumni. This position designs, runs and maintains various departmental reports for Career Center Leadership Team, staff, internal (campus) and external constituents; conducts testing and system validation to troubleshoot issues related to data management and systems; identifies and implements process improvements in relation to data practices and recommends ways to strengthen quality of data; and acts as liaison with campus wide data partners to deliver Career Center information in alignment with Division of Student Affairs and University goals.
The Business Analyst is responsible for coordinating the integration of information technologies with Career Center job search and career advising services; serves as application administrator for all Career Center software (currently Symplicity/Hire-A-Redbird, InterviewStream, FOCUS 2); develops, implements, and maintains a Career Center plan for use of various applications and systems; assesses staff needs and develops appropriate training, documentation, and job aides; provides leadership to staff in using technology in presentations and programs; and analyzes challenges and develops technical solutions.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline (e.g., Business Administration, Accounting, Organizational Development, Human Resource Management, Operations Management, Economics, Education, Business Management, Communication, Business Administration, Mathematics/Statistics, Marketing Analytics, Information Technology).
2. Two (2) years of professional level work experience in managerial and/or business analysis or technology experience, and/or relevant academic employment experience, including one (1) year at an administrative level.
3. Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new information technology systems.
4. Thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
5. Demonstrated ability to document processes and create specifications.
6. Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, including faculty, staff, managers, and subject matter experts.
7. Demonstrated ability to prepare complete and accurate reports.
