Job Description

Manage daily, planned, and reoccurring maintenance in the residential complexes of University Housing Services. This includes supervising Building Mechanics in the maintenance of facilities, equipment, and furnishings. The Foreman will maintain close contact and coordination with University Housing staff. The Building Mechanic Foreman also will work closely with Craft Foremen and assist University Project Managers and outside contractors. The Foreman also will be involved in material and equipment purchases, parts and tool purchases and identifying relevant training for safety, technical, and organizational needs, as it applies to their staff.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Six (6) years (72 months) of full time (or part time equivalent) building mechanical and/or building electrical work experience. (This experience refers to building mechanical maintenance such as light carpentry and plumbing. It does not include machinery or farm implement maintenance.)
3. Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications
1. General knowledge of all structural, finish, electrical and mechanical systems in residential facilities.
2. Basic knowledge of construction principles, materials and methods.
3. Aptitude for repair of mechanical devices and appliances.
4. General knowledge of building codes.
5. Familiarity with budgets.

Salary

$37.02 per hour
