Job Description

This position provides high-level support to the Student Accounts Department with the running of critical Student Financial Services processes including refunds, payment file processing, reporting activities, and account maintenance. Interprets and applies University policies, procedures, and business practices relating to student accounts. Serves as a key resource for student account administration, former student collection activities, loan servicing support, agency reporting, and financial processing. The position communicates with students, families, campus partners, as well as external partners, while ensuring accurate account maintenance and compliance with university policies and procedures. Responsible for processing and monitoring student account transactions, managing file transmissions, and providing support to Student Financial Services and the Comptroller's Office.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Any one or combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the categories below:

A. Course work in accounting, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
-9 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)

B. Course work in any discipline as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
-30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
-Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen (18) months
-90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)

C Work experience in bookkeeping, office support, or closely related experience.

Preferred Qualifications
1. Knowledge of Campus Solutions Student Financials module.
2. Knowledge of student accounts receivable processes and collections practices.
3. Experience working with third-party collection agencies and loan servicers.
4. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
5. Strong analytical, customer service, and decision-making abilities.
6. Experience reconciling account activity and resolving discrepancies.
7. Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, campus partners, and external agencies.


Salary

$20.12 - $20.77 per hour

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview.
