Job Description

Under administrative supervision from the Director of Energy Management this position plans, organizes, directs, and implements the goals and objectives of the Heating Plant and Campus Utility Operations, including Heating Plant Trades, Water Treatment, Heating and Cooling and Pipefitter Maintenance groups.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
1. Any one or combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) from the categories below:

A. Coursework in engineering or architecture, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
-30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
-Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
-90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
-Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
B. Work experience in the construction and maintenance of industrial, public, or institutional buildings.

2. Three (3) years (36 months) of work experience in the construction and maintenance of industrial, public, or institutional buildings.

3. Additional two (2) years (24 months) of supervisory experience in the construction and maintenance of industrial, public, or institutional buildings.

4. Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience in a university setting.
2. Experience with Illinois State University Planning Processes.
3. Knowledge of modern leadership practices.
4. Experience with working in a Labor/Management environment.

Salary

$120,000 - $135,000 annual
