Job Description
Career Services empowers and supports Redbirds to achieve their professional goals by providing resources, experiences, and industry connections. The Experiential Learning Coordinator builds and sustains strategic relationships with employers, alumni, faculty, and campus partners to expand internship and experiential learning opportunities for Illinois State University students. This role manages employer engagement strategies, supports student career advising and industry awareness, and develops employer-engaged programming aligned with student needs, workforce trends, NACE principles, and institutional priorities. The position also serves as a key representative of Career Services in advancing equitable access to internships, informing career preparation practices, and strengthening employer partnerships across industries.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree
2. One (1) year of full time or part time equivalent experience recruiting, advising, teaching, counseling, or working in career services.
(Note: Master’s degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for 12 months of work experience)
3. Ability to build and sustain equitable employer partnerships that result in meaningful experiential learning/internship opportunities
4. Ability to guide diverse students and/or alumni through the career development process (self-assessment, career exploration, decision-making, and job search strategies)
5. Thorough understanding of career development and career readiness.
6. Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with a variety of internal and external constituents.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Master's degree in college student personnel administration, business, higher education, human resources, or related field.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of career services along with employer internship recruiting practices
3. Demonstrated knowledge base in the area of career development and/or student development
4. Desired experience in providing higher education services for students.
5. Demonstrated abilities in interpersonal relations, organization, management, communication, problem solving, oral and written communication, and presentation skills.
Salary
$4,223 per month
