Job Description

Eastern Illinois University is seeking candidates for full-time, Civil Service position in the Office of Institutional Research and Business Operations for a Program Assistant I Specialized in Institutional Data. This position gathers informational data from various university departments and existing databases to generate reports. The role is responsible for analyzing and compiling institutional data for university reporting and external submissions, using sound reasoning to interpret findings. Careful interpretation and verification of data, along with strong attention to detail, are essential to ensure accurate and consistent reporting for the university community, as well as for state and federal agencies and other external entities.



The position also requires effective communication with members of the university community and the ability to maintain accurate, detailed records and documentation. In addition, this role supports the Budget Office with data collection, updation and reporting processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Compiles and collects data from numerous sources for external survey submissions. Verifies and analyzes the data for accuracy.
Assemble data, perform calculations, and prepare administrative reports related to the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE), IPEDS, and other surveys.
Communicate with departments regarding faculty workload reports.
Compile and collect data for standard internal and external reports.
Ad-hoc Requests and General Office Support.
Prepares data reports using Microsoft Office, Crystal Reports and Argos. Documents details of each project and updates general project documentation as needed.
Maintains and updates standard operating procedures for office processes.
Preparing correspondence, filing/archiving and answering the telephone for Institutional Research office.
Performs related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in STEM field preferably in Information systems, Business, Accounting, Mathematics or Statistics
Preferred Qualifications:

Qualified Candidates needs to have experience with advanced working knowledge in Microsoft Excel along with other Microsoft Office Tools.


Salary

$3,850/monthly and maximum of $3,900/monthly.

Comments Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of general office practices and procedures
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Skill in oral and written communication
Ability to work effectively with staff, the public, and outside constituency groups.
Ability to organize and multi-task.
Ability to utilize various computer software packages.
Ability to work independently and exercise judgment in order to be able to analyze and investigate a variety of questions or problems.


Work Hours

The core work hours of this position are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.

Starting Salary/Pay Rate Range

Current pay range for this position is minimum of $3,850/monthly and maximum of $3,900/monthly.
