Job Description
Provides guidance and assistance in areas of employment, faculty recruiting, and facilitation of other changes in status for non-tenure track and tenure-track/tenured faculty positions. This position acts as a liaison with the Provost Office and represents Human Resources amongst the faculty population at Illinois State.
Coaches and counsels supervisors and administrators regarding policies and procedures related to recruitment and selection, University policy, specific processes related to the Appointment, Salary, Promotion and Tenure (ASPT) policies and other personnel actions.
Assesses the needs of and provides specialized counseling for departments hiring individuals requiring U.S. visas and new and continuing international employees on all immigration matters.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Any one or any combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) from the following categories:
A. course work in human resource administration, business administration or a closely related field, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
-30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
-Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
-90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
-Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
B. progressively more responsible work experience maintaining, monitoring, and/or processing human resource records and reports.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Customer service focus.
2. Thorough knowledge of and skill in analyzing and interpreting provision of employee benefit plans, University policy and applicable state and federal laws.
3. Must have strong oral and written communication skills
4. Capable of exercising professional judgment on a consistent basis.
5. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities on a daily basis, and shift priorities as problems arise.
6. Ability to meet deadlines, work independently and be a self-starter.
7. Must have the ability to organize, analyze, and interpret data and have strong attention to detail.
8. Must have adequate keyboarding skills to allow for the efficient creation of work product.
9. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Salary
$27.14 per hour
