Job Description
Governors State University is seeking to hire a Coordinator of Community Standards and Student Advocacy for the Student Affairs department to support institutional efforts and promote a campus climate of civility, integrity, responsibility, and social justice by administering the Student Code of Conduct. The Coordinator serves as a hearing officer by adjudicating non-academic misconduct incidents, trains and evaluates a team of administrative hearing officers; convenes Student Conduct Committee, and co-chairs the Student Concerns Committee (GovState CARE Team); serves as case manager for students in distress; and develops and implements campus programs promoting outreach and education focused on civility, respect and integrity. The Coordinator assists with assessment efforts in the Office of the Dean of Students and the Division of Student Affairs.
Qualifications
1. Master's degree in college student personnel, counseling, higher education, higher education administration, student affairs administration, conflict resolution, or a related field.
2. Minimum of two (2) years full time professional experience in higher education focusing on student conduct, residence life, or a related field.
3. Experience working with behavioral intervention or threat assessment teams and supporting/responding to students in distress or crisis.
4. Experience working with faculty and staff in their roles as hearing officers.
Salary
$56,522.00 - $65,000.00
