Position Summary:
Eastern Illinois University is seeking candidates for a Part-Time, Child Care Resource Specialist, for Child Care Resource and Referral. This position will be responsible for providing technical support in a childcare resource service. Such services aid individuals in the community in locating, selecting, and evaluating childcare services and work with community childcare providers to provide consultation and training programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assists parents/guardians in locating, selecting, and evaluating childcare programs and services
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• General knowledge of childcare resources and programs.
• Ability to interact with the public.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
CREDENTIALS TO BE VERIFIED BY PLACEMENT OFFICER
• Preferred: Associate degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following related fields (ECE, Child Development, Child Psychology/Behavioral Sciences, Family Consumer Sciences, Social Work, Elementary Education, Child Welfare, and Family Services).
Or
• At least one year of educational credits leading toward a degree in Social Work, Elementary Education, Child Welfare, Family Services or related field, and 1 year work related experience.
Salary
$18.24/hr. Department set rate.
