Job Description
The primary responsibilities of the Night Circulation Supervisor are to provide excellent customer service at the circulation desk and a safe environment during the library's evening and night hours. This position oversees the library and its services in the evening hours until closing, acting as a building monitor during these times, and closes the library according to our closing procedures. Specifically, the Night Circulation Supervisor directs the activities of the circulation student assistants after 5:30pm, charges and discharges library materials at the circulation desk, coordinates the shelving of materials, creates courtesy cards for community residents, and helps patrons locate materials by using the online catalog and placing I-Share and interlibrary loan requests. The position also responds to security and safety incidents when appropriate, communicates incidents to Patron Services and Library Administration, advises Library Administration on security and safety issues, and participates in the training of student assistants.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
1. High school graduation or equivalent.
2. Any combination totaling two years (24 months) from the following categories:
a. work experience in a library or equivalent setting.
b. college course work in any field as measured by the following conversion table
- 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
- 60 semester hours or an Associate's degree equals eighteen (18) months
- 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
- Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
Preferred Qualifications
1. Excellent customer service and communication skills for both internal and external patrons.
2. Working knowledge of department and library policies and procedures.
3. Technical skill set centered on Windows-based software applications, and cloud-based services.
4. Ability to use the library and consortium's Alma unified library services platform and Primo VE online catalog.
5. Excellent attention to detail.
6. Advanced searching skill set in order to shelve and retrieve materials from a variety of library locations.
7. Ability to troubleshoot and demonstrate the operation and basic features of audio-visual equipment, such as DVD players, laptops, cameras, and digital voice recorders.
8. Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
9. Strong supervisory and conflict-resolution skills.
10. Ability to work independently.
Salary
$19.73 - $20.38 per hour
