Job Description
Provide guidance and assistance in areas of employment, recruitment, compensation, and classification for Administrative Professional and Graduate Assistant positions. These positions act as a liaison with various offices, departments, and schools and represent Human Resources amongst the faculty and administrative professional population at Illinois State.
Serve as a resource to supervisors and administrators regarding policies and procedures related to hiring, promotions, separations, non-medical leaves and other personnel actions. Work with departments to successfully recruit quality candidates. Coach departments and faculty/staff on appropriate search process and procedure. As part of a team with other Human Resource professionals, collaborate and participate in group and cross-functional initiatives and provide constructive support pertaining to the duties and responsibilities of the position.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
1.Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Human Resource Administration, Management, Organizational Administration, Psychology, Communication, or a field closely related to the position (transcript required).
2.Two (2) years of full-time (or part-time equivalent) work experience performing professional-level human resource duties.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Customer service focus.
2. Thorough knowledge of and skill in analyzing and interpreting provision of employee benefit plans, University policy and applicable state and federal laws.
3. Must have strong oral and written communication skills
4. Capable of exercising professional judgment on a consistent basis.
5. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities on a daily basis, and shift priorities as problems arise.
6. Ability to meet deadlines, work independently and be a self-starter.
7. Must have the ability to organize, analyze, and interpret data and have strong attention to detail.
8. Must have adequate keyboarding skills to allow for the efficient creation of work product.
9. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Salary
$27.14 per hour
