Job Description
The PeopleSoft Developer works within a team environment and will be responsible for the technical analysis, design, development, coding, testing and support of software applications for the PeopleSoft systems including Human Capital Management (HCM) and Campus Solutions (CS).
Technical Duties Include:
Performing Software engineering both long-term and day-to-day maintenance as well as provide technical analysis around how we use and should adopt and/or modify various functionalities.
Perform Technical Support & Incident Management providing subject-matter expertise on database best practices.
Provide proactive analysis including ad-hoc queries for analysis, reporting, and tuning.
Create, Maintain and Update System and Configuration Specific documentation like Environment Diagrams, Security, and Integration Mappings.
Perform Core and Integration Testing of all planned Changes.

The Application Services (APPS) team develops, administers, and delivers quality application services to the University. They work on enterprise and business applications, such as PeopleSoft, Canvas, and others.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Any one or any combination totaling two years (24 months) from the following categories:
a. College coursework which includes Information Technology, IT Management, Programming, IT systems, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 30 semester hours equals one year (12 months)
- 60 semester hours or Associate’s degree equals 18 months
- 90 semester hours equals two years (24 months)
- Bachelor's or higher degree equals three years (36 months)
b. Progressively more responsible work experience in a programming and development related profession
An additional five years (60 months) of experience:
a. in a Development, Programming, or Software Engineering role.
b. performing development duties such as gathering requirements, writing use cases, creating and testing development deliverables, and creating technical documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Degree in IT or related field
Seven or more years of experience:
a. in PeopleSoft Technical Role ideally as a Developer with PeopleSoft App Designer doing PeopleCode, SQRs, Application Engines, Workflows, Component Interfaces, Data Mover Scripts, in PeopleSoft HCM, Campus Solutions, and PeopleTools
b. with Source Control, Defect Management, and Incident Management Software Tools
c. developing and supporting software applications gained while working as an information technology professional or through course work
d. designing, creating, building, testing, and troubleshooting PeopleSoft delivered, modified, and add on programs
e. working with 1 or more Object Oriented Programming languages
f. in software testing including creating test plans, creating test cases, test execution, and documenting defects
g. in higher education administrative systems
h. collecting technical requirements and designing appropriate process and/or software solutions
Experience deploying and consuming Web Services and Message based communications
Formal training classes on PeopleSoft Tools and technology
Understanding of relational database concepts, design, and SQL queries
Understanding of and hands on programming experience with Enterprise Resource Planning systems
Knowledge of other web related technologies useful: XML/XSL, CSS

Salary
$85,000 - $102,500 annual
