Job Description
The Collection Specialist in the Office of the Bursar is responsible for managing student account receivables, supporting timely resolution of outstanding balances, and providing exceptional service to students and families. This role plays a key part in supporting the university’s financial operations and retention goals by helping students navigate repayment options and financial challenges in compliance with institutional, state, and federal guidelines.
Qualifications
1. Any one or any combination of the following, totaling one (1) year (12 months), from the categories below:
A. college course work that included courses in finance, accounting, business administration, or business management, or a closely related field:
* 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
* Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
* 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
* Bachelor’s degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
B. collection, consumer credit, or business experience that required knowledge of collection methods and procedures
2. One (1) year (12 months) of collection experience comparable to Collection Representative level or in other positions of comparable responsibility
Salary
$18.40/hour; $35,880/year
