Job Description

Under the leadership of the AVP for Budget and Planning, this position serves as the Director of the University Budget Office and serves in the role of University Budget Officer. Responsibilities include leading campus budgeting initiatives, managing University resources, performing fiscal analyses, fulfilling compliance requests from governing bodies, overseeing budget communications and training, leading the Budget Office team, partnering with campus fiscal managers, and overseeing budget systems and processes. This position will be instrumental as the University redesigns its budgeting practices to ensure long-term financial resiliency.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
1. Master's degree in accounting, business administration, business information systems, or closely related field. Transcripts required - may be unofficial.

2. At least five (5) years (60 months) of full time (or part-time equivalent) experience in a college or university setting, with responsibilities in budgeting, financial planning, and/or accounting at a supervisory or administrative level.


Salary

$130,000 - $150,000/annual

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview.

If hired, out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days from the start date for this position.
