Job Description

The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) has an immediate opening for an Office Support Specialist who will be responsible for assisting the legal department with general office tasks and procurement of goods and services in accordance with agency and state purchasing policies and rules.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Write specifications for small and large purchases.
• Generate purchase orders and work with ISAC Legal to draft basic ordering agreements, contracts, and approval memos.
• Draft Request for Proposals and Invitation for Bids.
• Communicate effectively with ISAC staff, state procurement staff, vendors, and other third parties to process procurements from start to finish.
• Process orders and requisitions.
• Maintain documents and retain records.
• Gather data and perform analyses.
• Follow established procedures for the security of confidential information.
• Complete assignments within group structure as well as independently.


Qualifications

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Any one or combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the categories below:
A. College coursework in any curriculum, as measured by the following conversion table or its
proportional equivalent:
30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
B. Work experience performing office/clerical activities, including the use of computer systems.
3. One (1) year (12 months) of work experience comparable to the Office Support Associate classification.

Preferred Qualifications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to learn and regularly use SAP software (Systems Applications and Products).


Salary

Minimum Salary: $45,000 per year
