Job Description
Provide exceptional and efficient client care and vendor support in response to routine purchasing activities and issues for commodities, equipment and contractual services as needed by University departments.
Assisting Procurement Manager with:
1. Ensuring purchasing transactions are conducted properly under Illinois State Laws and University policies and procedures.
2. Maintaining the integrity of the purchasing process.
3. Conducting on and off campus communications in a professional manner.
4. Resolving problems and complaints between vendors and University departments.
5. Ensuring a timely and accurate process flow for requisitions and purchase orders.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Any one or combination totaling eighteen (18) months from the following categories:
a. college coursework in any discipline as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
--30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
--Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
--90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
--Bachelor’s degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
b. responsible work experience in customer services, public relations, office administration, business and financial operations, healthcare administration, or other closely related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Strong customer service skills.
2. General knowledge of PCs, normal office support equipment, Microsoft WORD and EXCEL
3. Ability to analyze information and situations.
4. Ability to interpret rules and regulations and willingness to ask questions when unclear.
5. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally to a broad audience; includes proper knowledge of telephone etiquette and strong written communication skills.
6. Ability to work with interruptions and to adjust priorities as needed.
7. Ability to work as part of a team.
Salary
$17.44 - $18.46 per hour
