Job Description
The purpose of the position of TRIO Office Manager is to work closely with the Program Coordinator of TRIO/SSS (Assistant Director in University College) to perform a variety of clerical responsibilities utilizing confidential administrative, and secretarial support. The Office Manager provides administrative support for the operations of TRIO and its staff. The Office Manager works closely with multiple constituencies within University College and across campus in achieving these objectives related to job duties. The person in this position will interface at a high level outside the unit with various offices including the Human Resources, Payroll, Budget, Comptroller, and Research & Sponsored Programs. Must have a working knowledge of the expectations from the US Department of Education related to this grant.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience comparable to the third level of this series. This work includes performing a wide variety of office support tasks, which require the use of judgment and initiative and the ability to operate computer systems, using word processing, database, and software packages.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Discretion is vital as the position handles confidential information including budget details and student records.
2. Ability to establish a cooperative working relationship with faculty, staff, family members/guardians, and students.
3. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and produce quality work under deadlines; organizational skills; flexibility in a changing administrative model; prioritize projects and complete on or before the due date.
4. Demonstrate working knowledge of basic office software (word processing, e-mail systems, spreadsheets, mainframes, databases, etc.) Excellent knowledge of computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to set up functions, enter data, or process information. Accounting, Calendar/Scheduling, Database, Word Processing, and Spreadsheet software
5. Ability to work independently and without supervision, but also effectively contribute to a team with a learner-centered and service-oriented philosophy.
6. Demonstrated experience with oversight, administration, and coordination of financial resources (budget, including research, grant, contract, and foundation-related activities).
7. Ability to maintain composure and provide good service in handling student and staff issues in all situations including when the student or staff member is having a difficult day.
8. Strong communication (oral and written), and leadership skills and experience.
Salary
$18.50 - $19.15/hour
