Eastern Illinois University’s Health and Counseling Services is seeking candidates for a Medical Insurance Associate position for its Student Insurance unit. This position will assist in the administration of the Student Insurance Plan and Illinois College Immunization Act Compliance. Duties include:
• Research claims, enter billing data, determine if there are plan limitations or maximums, and scan all documents.
• Counsel students, parents, and providers concerning the plan benefit provisions, limitations, and coordination of benefits with primary insurance.
• Post official notices of open enrollment periods, procedures for enrollment, reinstatement, and cancellation of insurance.
• Review immunization forms for Illinois state law Immunization Compliance; notify students and/or parents when not in compliance.
• Review International Students immunization records and ensure they receive appropriate immunizations for Immunization Compliance.
• Administer international student TB screening process and refer to SBL-EIU Student Medical Clinic for testing.
• Monitor automated external defibrillators (AED’s) across campus to ensure they are up-to-date and are in good working order.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet any one or combination totaling one (1) year (12 months) from the categories below:
A. College coursework in a health-related field, business administration/management, human resource management, or closely related fields as measured by the following conversion table or it’s proportional equivalent:
? 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months).
? Associate’s degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months).

B. Work experience in a healthcare environment working with medical claims, denials, rejections, referrals, and prior authorizations.
