Job Description

The Student Information Coordinator plays an important role in managing student data systems and administrative processes for the College of Education. This involves overseeing the student information database and applications used, coordinating testing and state data reporting, and assisting faculty and staff in using systems effectively.

The Coordinator maintains the day-to-day operations of applications used to track and analyze student information. This includes setting up user access, troubleshooting issues, and integrating systems with other tools used by the school and College. The Coordinator also helps perform tasks that rely on the student information database, like grade rollovers, submitting required reports, and assisting with business office responsibilities.

As the testing coordinator, the Coordinator oversees all local, state, and standardized testing for the College's lab schools. This includes ensuring students are properly registered for required assessments, scheduling and organizing test sessions, and training proctors and administrators to comply with testing protocols. The Coordinator works closely with teachers, counselors, and other staff to provide accommodations for students as needed and to analyze test results for curriculum planning purposes.

The individual in this position will play a critical role in the upcoming rollout of a new student information system in the coming years.

Familiarity with the following systems will provide the ideal candidate an edge: Skyward (or any similar student information system), TeacherEase, aimswebPlus, and Google Workspace for Education.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
One to two years of work experience in a K-12 setting working with student information systems and/or performing administrative work.
Basic knowledge of computers, tablets, and other devices used during testing processes, including compatibility, common issues, and configuration.
Advanced knowledge and understanding of spreadsheets and their advanced functions (filters, compound formulas, pivot tables, etc.)
Strong project management, analysis, and research skills
Ability to apply critical thinking to solve complex problems.
Ability to write and communicate in a professional manner, especially when communicating technical information to a non-technical audience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in/with any of the following:
a. working with data management in an education setting
b. using student information systems, grade book applications, or enrollment management systems in an educational setting
c. administering educational technology systems and data, including student information systems, learning management systems, and assessment platforms
d. analyzing student performance data and developing data-driven recommendations
e. with scripting languages and associated software to improve and automate processes
Knowledge of special education processes, IEPs, and 504 plans
Familiarity with educational technology solutions like learning management systems, adaptive learning programs, etc.
Knowledge of and experience with data analysis and data visualization techniques


Salary

$24.00 - $28.00 per hour

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview. The active register for this classification will be voided when the position is filled.
