Job Description

The Human Resource Department of Eastern Illinois University has an opening for a full-time Human Resource Representative. This position will be responsible for providing basic support for all areas of Human Resources.

Duties could include:

-Processing payroll: assists with data entry, payroll forms, and other payroll tasks
-Providing support to employees concerning basic human resource related issues
-Provide support to the campus community for items within the benefits department including Tuition Waivers, SURS, Insurance, FMLA, and more.
-Assists with employment related tasks such as I-9 paperwork, performing background checks, updating employment records, etc.


Qualifications

Qualified candidates must meet the following qualifications:

High School graduation or equivalent
Any combination totaling two years from the following:
Progressively more responsible work experience performing duties comparable to those listed for the previous lower level of the series.
College course work in human resource administration, business administration or closely related field, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
60 semester hours equals one year
90 semester hours equals two years

Comments The Civil Service Examination for this classification is a credentials assessment. No participation other than the submission of applicant materials is required from qualified applicants. Minimum starting salary is $14.278/hour, but salary shall be commensurate with experience.
