Job Description
The Instructional Designer (ID) assists in the formulation and implementation of online/hybrid and digital learning strategy and supports the development of fully online and blended/hybrid programs. The ID works with subject matter experts to design or adapt coursework for engaging and high-quality experiences for all learners. The ID also works with Center team members to develop and implement professional development and provide consultation to academic departments.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Master's or equivalent degree in instructional design and development, educational technology, or closely related field.
Three or more years of experience developing online instruction or training.
Knowledge of principles of adult learning, instructional design, teaching methods, and assessment.
Experience with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Brightspace, Moodle, Blackboard).
Knowledge of principles of accessibility in online course design.
Experience teaching workshops and/or presenting to faculty.
Desired Qualifications
Higher education online teaching experience.
Experience working with faculty or other subject matter experts to develop instruction.
Experience with graphics, video, or multimedia development software, such as Adobe or Articulate.
Experience with quality rubrics, such as Quality Matters or OLC OSCQR.
Knowledge of principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
Learning management system administration and/or support experience.
Experience in web design and/or HTML.
Salary
$61,008 annual, combined with an excellent benefits package
