Job Description
The primary purpose of the registrar/counseling office support is to provide support work with transcripts, grades, college forms, other forms, filing, admissions, phones and email, testing, transfer students, and registration. In addition, this position helps by greeting visitors, answering questions, answering and transferring calls, taking messages, sending for students as required by counselors, administration and staff, and arranging appointments.
The work for this position is subject to change in respect to administrative prerogatives and the tasks related to the semester schedule. The administration and this individual work in cooperation to assure a smooth working environment.
Additional Information
This is a year-round, 12-month position.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
High school graduation or equivalent.
Any one or combination totaling two years (24 months) from the categories below:
a. College coursework in any curriculum, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 30 semester hours equals one year (12 months)
- Associate’s degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen (18) months
- 90 semester hours equals two years (24 months)
- Bachelor’s degree (120 semester hours) equals three years (36 months)
b. Work experience performing office/clerical activities, including the use of computer systems.
One year (12 months) of work experience comparable to the second level of this series.
Desired Qualifications
Proficient in word processing and computer programs (i.e., Excel, Word) as well as other intermediate computer skills.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in all work.
Excellent customer service skills.
Self-starter with the ability to prioritize responsibilities and work efficiently while handling numerous interruptions.
Basic knowledge of office practices and procedures.
Ability to keyboard accurately at a rate of 25 net w.p.m.
Working knowledge of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and sentence and paragraph structure.
Knowledge of and ability to operate document production and standard office equipment.
Ability to follow routine written and oral instruction.
Skilled in oral and written communication.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
Knowledge of Skyward software.
Salary
$16.68 – 17.33 per hour
