Job Description

The Financial Associate will provide fiscal and administrative support for registered student organizations (RSO) that receive student fee allocations through the Dean of Students Office. Duties will include adherence to policies and procedures; communication with various University departments; communication with student leaders, faculty, and staff; data entry; and handling of confidential information. In addition, the Financial Associate will serve as the purchasing agent for the programming units of the Dean of Students Office.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in business administration, management, or a field related to the position.
Two (2) years of professional accounting, managerial, and/or business experience.
(Note: A Master’s degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one year of work experience.)
Desired Qualifications
Previous experience providing administrative support to staff and faculty.
Previous experience managing purchasing for multiple departments/staff.
Experience with administrative and clerical procedures such as managing electronic records, data entry in Excel spreadsheets, designing forms, etc.
Ability to work independently and effectively to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
Ability to consistently apply policies and work within procedures to assist staff and organizations in meeting goals.


Salary

$20.00 - $21.22 per hour

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview. The active register for this classification will be voided when the position is filled.
