Job Description

The Assistant Director for Annual Giving and Alumni Engagement for Student Affairs is responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive and integrated annual giving program for the Division of Student Affairs. The position solicits a wide range of Illinois State University constituencies through individual meetings, segmentation, and the management and completion of direct marketing campaigns and targeted events. Constituencies include, but are not limited to, alumni of student affairs departments (e.g., student leaders, advisees, and employees); current and past parents/family members; division staff; business partners; and students. Working in strong collaboration with University Advancement departments, the Assistant Director will create and implement a robust strategy to increase student affairs alumni connection, pride, and giving. This will include, but is not limited to, planning and hosting divisional events, department giving projects, event-based initiatives, recognizing alumni through awards and events, and developing a culture of philanthropy within the division in support of university efforts.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor's Degree in any field.
2. One year of full time or part time equivalent event or program management experience.
3. Working knowledge and understanding of fundraising principles and alumni and donor engagement strategies.
4. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
5. Ability to work effectively with persons from diverse backgrounds while supporting a welcoming and inclusive environment.
6. Demonstrated ability to utilize data to create manageable goals and projects.
7. Self-motivated and self-starting, excellent time management and organizational skills, and efficiency in multitasking.
8. Possess outstanding interpersonal skills and enjoy working and communicating with others to build relationships for fundraising purposes.

Desired Qualifications
1. Master's Degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, or related field.
2. Knowledge of student affairs, university fundraising, and Illinois State University.
