Job Description
Eastern Illinois University invites applications for the position of International Student Advisor in the Office of International Students and Scholars.
The International Student Advisor reports to the Assistant Dean of the Office of International Students and Scholars, who serves as a unit within the Graduate School at Eastern Illinois University. This position will serve as a Designated School Official and will be responsible for and assist with federally mandated requirements related to Student Exchange Visitor (SEVIS) program. The successful applicant must also have a willingness to assist in the admission process of international students and international student programming. The Coordinator will provide assistance to international students and scholars, plan and organize workshops and outreach activities, and conduct orientation for new international students and scholars.
Qualifications
Requirement for this position are a Bachelor’s degree in any field and one year of experience working with international undergraduate and graduate students and the SEVIS program. Preference will be given for candidates who have excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and experience with promoting inclusive excellence is required.
The Civil Service examination for this position is a credentials assessment. No participation other than the submission of application materials is required from qualified applicants.
