Job Description

The position is responsible for the Employee Relations unit in the Facilities Management Department, which includes all human resource, employment and personnel budgeting operations for Facilities Services. This position provides direction to student workers and/or other staff that assist with the daily work in this unit.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in business administration, management, human resource administration or a field related to position (transcripts required – maybe unofficial)

2. Two (2) years of full time (or part-time equivalent) professional level work experience in managerial, business and/or human resources/payroll.

3. Demonstrated experience working with highly confidential, political, and sensitive information.

4. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities on a daily basis.

5. Demonstrative ability to manage constant interruptions and shift priorities as workload requires.

6. Strong oral and written communication skills.

7. Demonstrated ability to organize, analyze and interpret data and have strong attention to detail.

8. Demonstrated knowledge of office practices and procedures.

9. Demonstrated ability building and maintaining effective working relationships.

10. Demonstrated knowledge of various computer programs.

Desired Qualifications
1. Ability to develop program needs and tailor them for differing constituencies.

2. Knowledge of craft jurisdiction and building trades terminology.

3. Ability to use desktop publishing and/or similar technologies.

4. Knowledge and understanding of University and departmental policies and procedures.


Salary

$16.95 - $22.04/hour

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview. The active register for this classification will be voided when the position is filled.
