Job Description
1. High school graduation or equivalent.
2. Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience comparable to the third level of this series. This work includes performing a wide variety of office support tasks, which require the use of judgment and initiative and the ability to operate computer systems, using word processing, database and software packages. Knowledge of the organization, programs, practices and procedures of a department/unit is central to the performance of the duties.
If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, then employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Business, Communication, or a related field
2. Two (2) years of professional level experience with fiscal management and administrative structure of the University. (i.e. reconciling budgets).
3. Demonstrated experience organizing detailed information with accuracy.
4. Demonstrated ability in University financial applications applying accounting principles and budgeting procedures.
5. Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data/situations and identify appropriate solutions.
6. Demonstrated ability to determine when decisions should be made independently or in consultation with key stakeholders.
7. Demonstrated expertise with oral and written communication and customer service.
8. Demonstrated expertise with the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
9. Demonstrated knowledge of general office procedures and practices.
10. Excellent working knowledge of the University procedures related to purchasing, events scheduling, parking, renting, and clerical duties.
11. Ability to perform work with diplomacy, accuracy, and thoroughness and be able to see the big picture relative to events planning; arranging and performing tasks so that purposes are achieved.
12. Ability to relate well with external constituencies and provide excellent information services to students, administrators, and faculty.
13. Well-organized and capable of assuming intense responsibilities for planning, coordinating, and implementing program activities.
14. Adaptive and able to develop new procedures when necessary, and work to involve others in the planning and implementation phases.
Salary
$15.64 - $16.42 per hour
