Job Description
The Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) Officer is responsible for receiving, collecting, and providing responsive information to requests made under the Freedom of Information Act. Reviews and Processes new and existing FOIA inquiries from the public.
This position is responsible for timely processing of all university freedom of information act requests. Receives and/or initiate telephone calls, letters, fax, or emails pertaining to FOIA cases to determine status or resolve issues regarding requests. Supervises deputy FOIA officer.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree required; JD preferred
2. A minimum of one year prior experience in responding to Freedom of Information Act Requests or comparable requests
3. Ability to pass the freedom of Information Act training required by the Illinois office of Attorney General on a yearly basis
