Job Description

This position will perform duties related to report writing, software system analysis and testing of the StarRez software system and documenting StarRez system procedures based on business needs. The three main purposes of this position are to ensure that business processes and technical solutions are met within the Housing system, ensure effective communication and processing regarding contract/lease creation and room assignment procedures, and to maintain welcoming and effective communication flow for other departmental processes that affect university housing students.


1. High school graduation or equivalent.

2. Any combination totaling one year from the following categories:
a.) progressively more responsible work experience in an Information Technology (IT) related profession
b.) college course work which included Information Technology (IT, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 60 semester hours or Associate's Degree equals one year.

3. Demonstrated ability to oversee and coordinate activities of user groups.

4. Demonstrated ability to grasp contract language.

5. Demonstrated ability to effectively use on-line computer programs and student databases.

6. Demonstrated understanding of how varying software systems relate (i.e. Helix, Velocity, StarRez).

7. Demonstrated ability to review and compile varying data tables within the programming and reporting of the software system to write complex reports that are inclusive of inner, left and right joints utilizing multiple tables in one application.

8. Demonstrated experience with Excel including formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP's and other statements related to spreadsheets as necessary to enable multiple constituents to view data.

9. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and professionally interact with all staff levels and customer groups.

10. Demonstrated ability to demonstrate fundamental knowledge of effective troubleshooting methodologies.

11. Demonstrated ability to create, document and maintain complex business processes as they relate to technology solutions, including technical manuals for programs such as StarRez.

12. Excellent oral and written communications skills.

13. Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve technical problems.

14. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.


$15.00-$18.00 per hour
