Job Description

Assist in ensuring the security of computer and information systems, including networks, applications, endpoints, databases, operating systems, infrastructure components, and associated systems. Assist the Information Security team in the continuous review, evaluation, growth, and development of information security best practices toward building a cyber-resilient University culture and environment.


Qualifications

1. At least 90 semester hours toward a Bachelor's degree in information security, information technology, computer sciences, or closely related field
or
Bachelor's degree in unrelated field with directly related experience in computer and information security of a minimum of 2 years
2. Ability to perform independent research and apply critical reasoning skills to solve technical issues.
3. Ability to multitask and self-manage assigned projects and daily tasks in an environment with shifting priorities.
4. Demonstrated ability to follow established procedures, even in a high pressure situation.
5. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, including the ability to convey technical information to a non-technical audience.
6. Familiarity with information security compliance and best practices, including COBITS, SIG, NIST, ISO, and information security related federal and state laws and regulations, including privacy protection, identity protection, HIPAA, FERPA, records retention requirements, and CALEA.
7. Knowledge of and familiarity with Cloud security practices, network operating systems, Active Directory, Cherwell ITSM, Oracle PeopleSoft environments for Campus Solutions and HCM, Environment and PII vulnerability scanning, Office 365, and Oracle Identity Manager or similar IAM product.
8. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.
