Job Description
The Nursing Simulation Lab is a highly visible interactive facility viewed and utilized by various families, potential students, alumni and donors. The Coordinator has a keen responsibility to role model the values and standards of Mennonite College of Nursing. This position focuses on two key areas of the Nursing Simulation Laboratory (NSL) Strategic Map: To ensure Academic and Health Care Excellence and Promoting Faculty and Staff Excellence. This position collaborates with faculty and staff to streamline detailed scenarios, educating and developing current and future nursing staff for real-life situations. In addition, the Coordinator oversees health assessment and skills labs, and open lab times for nursing students, as well as supervises and mentors graduates and student assistants Fluidity and the ability to adjust and meet the demanding needs within the dynamic environment of the daily lab operations is crucial.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in nursing, healthcare or related degree (verify with transcript).
2. One (1) year of professional nursing or related field experience in acute or long term care setting.
3. One (1) year of work experience in a professional level managerial position that includes staff supervision and/or project management.
4. Current licensed registered nurse in the State of Illinois.
5. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.
