Job Description
Safely operate motor coaches, passenger vans, cargo vans, various university trucks and sedans for intrastate and interstate transportation of groups or individuals. Perform general maintenance to the university automotive fleet, such as pumping gas, washing vehicles, perform minor repairs to university vehicles, and pick up parts for Transportation. Maintain the buses this individual operates. Dispatch pool vehicles.
Scheduled work hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30, when not assigned to a trip. When assigned to a trip, reporting time will be based on scheduled departure times. Overtime and overnight travel will be required.
Starting Salary: $12.53/hour plus benefits (Click here for employment benefit information).
This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
Qualifications
Three years of experience in the maintenance and operation of motor vehicles. Possession of a valid State of Illinois CDL Class-B driver’s license with Passenger Endorsement and no restrictions for air brakes.
This is a security-sensitive position and requires a pre-employment DOT medical examination. Before any offer of employment is made, the University will conduct a pre-employment criminal background investigation, which includes a criminal background check and a pre-employment DOT medical examination.
