Job Description

The Tutoring Program Specialist in the Central Office of the Illinois Tutoring Initiative will provide project support for districts and tutor-PK-12 student matches within their area. The Illinois Tutoring Initiative will provide tutoring services for over 3,500 K-12 students across the state.

Additional Information
The Illinois Tutoring Initiative is a grant-funded project –funded through June 30, 2024 – that will end after funding ceases. This position will not be renewed at the end of the project.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Education or related field
Two years of full time (or part-time equivalent) work experience in a clerical or educational position
Basic Windows application knowledge, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
Master’s degree in education or related field
Experience working in K-12 setting
Experience working as a tutor for K-12 students
Previous experience working on large-scale projects and/or grant-funded projects.
General office skills including data entry, typing, telephone, reception.


Salary

$25.00 - $26.00 per hour

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview. The active register for this classification will be voided when the position is filled.
