Job Description
The Business Analyst provides guidance and direction to the department and serves as a liaison with campus data partners to deliver Career Services information in alignment with Division of Student Affairs and University goals. This position designs, runs, and maintains departmental reports for the Career Services Leadership Team, staff, and internal (campus) and external constituents; conducts testing and system validation to troubleshoot issues related to data management and systems; identifies and implements process improvements in relation to data practices; and recommends ways to strengthen quality of data.
The Business Analyst is responsible for coordinating the integration of information technologies with Career Services job search, employer outreach, and career advising services; serves as application administrator for all Career Services software (currently Symplicity/Hire-A-Redbird, InterviewStream, FOCUS 2); develops, implements, and maintains a Career Services plan for use of various applications and systems; assesses Director, Career Services, Leadership Team, and functional staff needs and develops appropriate training, documentation, and job aides; provides leadership to staff in using technology in presentations and programs; and analyzes challenges and develops technical solutions.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Operations Management, Communication, Mathematics/Statistics, Marketing Analytics, or related field.
Three years of professional level work experience in business analysis or technology.
Experience with or awareness of business transformation and business process redesign to support system modernization.
Thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
Demonstrated ability to document processes and prepare accurate reports.
Demonstrated experience providing strong professional customer service to achieve excellence in providing stakeholders with quality and reliable data.
Ability to analyze and synthesize large amounts of detailed information, quickly understand complex issues, and break information down into smaller, more manageable pieces.
Desired Qualifications
Master’s degree
Experience in maintaining, supporting, and troubleshooting computer systems
Demonstrated knowledge in the area of integrating multiple information technologies with delivery of services
Experience in a higher education environment
Experience in project management
