7.4 Merit Board Approval Process

Manual: Employment and Separation Procedures

Subsection: Demonstration Projects or Pilot/Study Programs

A copy of the application will be made available for public inspection and comments at least 30 days prior to the regularly scheduled meeting of the Merit Board at which it will be considered. All required information must be submitted to the Executive Director of the University System office in order for the application to be considered.

The Merit Board:

  1. will review, evaluate and make recommendations to the proposed project/program at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Merit Board;
  2. may request or authorize comments by interested parties; and/or
  3. may consult with the Executive Director for a recommendation.

Final decisions of the Merit Board related to the approval of proposed projects/programs are not subject to review under the Administrative Review Law (735 ILCS 5/3-101).
