In accordance with the Act and Administrative Rules, any applicant may complete an examination for a class four times within any 12 month period, with at least one month time lapse between each examination. The candidate’s place on the register for the class shall be determined by the highest score achieved on any examination for the class.

If an applicant/candidate is admitted to a rewrite examination before the required time has elapsed, the examination will be voided and the applicant's/candidate's time to rewrite shall be affected.

An applicant/candidate who wishes to rewrite an examination shall rewrite the entire examination unless the examination specified otherwise.

Each time an applicant/candidate rewrites an examination, the date of application shall be the date the applicant/candidate applied for the rewrite.

A new examination number is assigned each time an applicant/candidate rewrites an examination or part of an examination. The register card and University System Answer Sheet must be clearly marked REWRITE for all such examinations. See Section on Preparing Register Information and Notice of Examination Score.

When registers are scheduled to be voided, and as a result the 30-day notice period is operative, the applicant/candidate taking an examination with the new test instrument begins a new sequence.
