Subsection: Administering Computerized Knowledge Examinations

The applicant should be encouraged to follow all directions and to complete every question in the examination. Since all questions are graded, the monitors should make sure that each applicant understands and realizes the importance of following the directions. Please call the System Office if you have any questions about administering this type of examination.

Reminder to Read: Any falsification of facts on this examination can and will result in voiding of the examination. If the applicant has taken the exam for this classification at any State Universities Civil Service System place of employment within the past 30 days, please have the applicant see the monitor prior to starting the examination.

Special Instructions
Computerized examinations should be administered as follows:

  • Each applicant should be given a personalized disk. The monitor should load the disk in the designated computer for the applicant or assist the applicant in loading the disk.
  • The applicant should be given the appropriate handouts that accompany the exam.
  • Review any general exam instructions.
  • Inform the applicant of the allotted time limit to complete the entire examination.
  • Review the directions and commands that are associated with completing the computerized exam. Additional paper should be provided for the applicant to use when performing calculations or the applicant may use a calculator. PLEASE COLLECT ALL PAPERS.
